Start your morning with hotel pickup in the Old Quarter, then visit Hoa Lo Prison (Maison Centrale), the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square, where Vietnam’s independence was declared. In the afternoon, explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and learn about traditional Confucian education. In the morning:
7:30 to 7:45: Our limousine bus and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
8:00: Visit Hoa Lo Prison. It is also known as Maison Centrale in Hanoi or the ‘Hanoi Hilton.” This
historical site once housed Vietnamese revolutionaries and American POWs during the Vietnam War.
9:00: Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where Vietnamese people honor him as a national hero. Continue
to Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Vietnam on September
2, 1945. From here, you can also view the Parliament House of Vietnam.
11:15: Arrive at Train Street and get ready to capture photos or videos of the train passing by this unique,
narrow residential street – a true highlight of the trip. Then, enjoy lunch at a nearby local restaurant.
For half-day tour participants: Driver will take you back to your hotel after lunch.
In the afternoon:
12:30: Visit the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university, founded in the 11th century. Discover
more about Confucianism and Vietnam’s traditional education system while admiring Khue Van Pavilion
and the Doctor Steles placed on stone turtles’ backs.
13:30: Travel to Bat Trang Pottery Village to explore a local workshop where artisans craft ceramic
products for domestic use and export. You’ll have the chance to create your own pottery piece with
guidance from an instructor.
16:00 Enjoy a cup of Vietnamese tea served with peanut candy – a perfect treat to refresh yourself.
17:00: Return to Hanoi city center via a beautiful bridge over the Red River and transfer back to your
hotel. Tour ends.
